Our unique formulations containing Penzyme (cod trypsin) have been tested in clinical studies with positive effects

1. CuriZyme. A. Wound healing study termed “Evaluation of a formulation containing an enzyme extracted from fish for topical use in the treatment of pressure sores”. Monique Mangion, PhD thesis, University of Malta. The unique formulation containing Penzyme (CuriZyme) was more effective in promoting wound healing than other commercial wound healing products used in the study. B. UV radiation burn study termed “Internal report on the effect of a unique formulation containing Penzyme on 25 volunteers”. The unique formulation (CuriZyme) containing Penzyme used in the study showed good results for the treatment of UV burns.

2. DermiZymeSkin rejuvenation study termed “A prospective, placebo-controlled, randomized, double-blind, comparative, parallel, 2-arm study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of topical formulation containing Penzyme as skin rejuvenator“. The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of a unique topical formulation containing Penzyme (DermiZyme) as skin rejuvenator. There was significant reduction in symptoms associated with atopic dermatitis and other skin disorders in the mean number of dry patches, freckles, blemishes, scars as compared to that seen on day 0 within the groups. Furthermore, there was significant reduction in the mean scores of sunburn, itching, tenderness, redness, burning within the groups. The efficacy of DermiZyme could be established at least at the level of 82.1% in this study. As per physicians 94.6% of the cases using formulation containing Penzyme (DermiZyme) showed good to fair safety towards treatment score. It can be concluded from the study that the formulation containing Penzyme (DermiZyme) is well tolerated in patients presenting with non significant skin ailments such as dry patches, freckles, blemishes, scars.

3. AcniZyme. Acne vulgaris study termed “A prospective, active-controlled, randomized, observer-blind, comparative, parallel, 2-arm study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of topical formulation containing Penzyme in patients suffering from acne vulgaris acne and other skin conditions”. The study was planned to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a formulation containing Penzyme (AcniZyme) in patients suffering from acne when compared with standard antibiotic treatment (Clindamycin). Efficacy of AcniZyme was evaluated in a total of 109 patients (54 in AcniZyme group and 59 in Clindamycin group). Fall in mean dimensions of papule, pustules and nodules was observed in both the groups, however the comparison between AcniZyme and Clindamycin showed that the fall was more in the Clindamycin group than that of the AcniZyme group. Other parameters such as itching, tenderness, redness and burning were reduced in both the groups at the end of treatment, however the comparison showed that the fall was more in the Clindamycin group than that of the AcniZyme group.There were no serious adverse events reported & safety for its use was observed in both the AcniZyme and Clindamycin formulations. Furthermore, it was shown that AcniZyme showed a significant reduction in pimples as compared to that seen on day 0 within the groups.

4. PsoriZyme. Psoriasis study termed „A report of a pilot clinical study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a unique formulation containing Penzyme in the management of mild to moderate plaque psoriasis“. This was a small 14 patient study using a unique formulation containing Penzyme (PsoriZyme) in the management of mild to moderate psoriasis conducted as a proof of concept. All parameters measured in the study showed overall improvement with use of PsoriZyme.

Furthermore, Zymetech has performed small “in house” clinical studies on volunteers using special formulations containing Penzyme with positive results.
